THE DART CENTRE
From the M27 take junction 7 towards Hedge End. Take the 2nd exit off the roundabout and at the traffic lights in the village centre, turn left into Wildern Lane. The Dart Centre is located on the Wildern School Site, 200m along on the right.
Welcome to The Dart, a Community Arts Centre exhibiting work by 5 professional artists and makers and two community groups, including a varied selection of acrylic & oil paintings, textiles, ceramics, drawings, photographs, glass art, unique gift items and more.
Artists exhibiting are:
• Paul Best - landscape & abstract painter creating distinctive, colourful, textural art with acrylic & reflective paints.
• Elizabeth Saunders (First 5 days) - textile artist who works with paint, print, stitch and recycled fabrics
• Mike Woodward (Last 5 days) - wildlife artist
• Vicki North - ceramic artist
• Flagship Art Group - a local group for adults with learning disabilities, exploring different ways to be creative
• Hedge End Bobbin Lacemakers - teaching the timeless craft of lacemaking from traditional to contemporary styles
• Little Glass Robin - glass artist creating playful, fused glass art inspired by nature and the coast
We have a coffee shop serving cakes, snacks and refreshments, accessible toilet facilities and an art shop selling local, handmade gifts. Artist demonstrations, talks and workshops are bookable via the website.
