From the A354 take Martin Drove End into the centre of Martin village. Read’s Farmhouse is on Martin Drove End and has limited parking on a gravel drive in front of the barn.

Art in Martin offers a diverse range of high-quality painting and handmade craft from artists working locally. There will also be demonstrations at the weekends. Delicious refreshments available.

Lizzie Fernie specialises in hand-built ceramics with superb ash glazes which she mixes in her studio using wood ash from the garden.

Keith Seldon, enameller and enamel artist, works for the top jewellery houses in London and has won many awards for his work.

Charlotte Burleigh is an artist who centrally uses chalk pastels and oil paints to depict the chalk downland around her. She also paints and draws still life.

Jessica Bourdon Smith’s oil portraits develop over a number of sittings with the subject, which allows for their deep character to emerge through the paint.

Grant Walker makes large platters and amphora. His ceramic pieces are often part-glazed to reveal the clay which would otherwise be hidden.

Judi Glover creates vibrant paintings that celebrate the beauty and colour of light in the landscape, still life and nature

Heidi Donovan’s work generally concentrates on skies and light. Her work is an intuitive response to the unpredictable changes in British weather and the atmosphere it creates.;
