Jo Lapage (part of Watermark artists ) Fused glass, Tiffany-style, mosaics, traditional painting and engraving.
Jo was formerly a senior chartered physiotherapist, specialising in rheumatology and rehabilitation, using hydrotherapy to aid recovery. She always dabbled in art and craft, attending adult education classes and was especially attracted to the fluidity and transparency of glass, as well as its vibrant colours. She developed her skills while attending numerous workshops and masterclasses on engraving, sandblasting, sculpture and fused glass.
Now producing and selling her own work, Jo uses specialist art glass, but also recycled bottles, tiles, and found objects. Her recent work has been shaped by Lockdown and inspired by gardens, skies, birds, insects….and sometimes by left-over materials and an eclectic mix of collected items. No glass is ever wasted!
Safety measures will be in place: limited numbers allowed in the classroom at any one time; hand sanitizer for use on entry and exit; card payments encouraged; no refreshments this year!
