JENNY WITCHARD - SEADRIFT STUDIO
Off Lower St Helens Road., which is off Freegrounds Road. (0.7 miles from village centre.)
I enjoy working in three main mediums from my studio in Hedge End
Batik pictures are created using dyes and hot liquid wax on natural fabric. Along with other batiks, I have now completed 12 different Batik designs in my Hampshire Towns and Villages range. These are available as framed prints and as cards.
Wet Felting, involves ‘painting’ with wool and other fibres using warm water and soap, rubbing, rolling, and stitching. This creates quite unpredictable but satisfying results, involving a variety of textures and vivid colours. Over the last few years, I have completed a number of felted pictures in my ‘Meadows’, ‘Sea and Water’ and ‘Places’ series, some of which are for sale.
Driftwood collected mainly from the UK’s southern shores have a beauty all of their own. I use these free materials to create mainly mirror surrounds and hearts.
Many originals are for sale, as are the batik prints, greetings cards and coasters. Garden open too - donation to Hedge End Food Bank if you like the garden (cash not food!)
Artwork exhibition spread across open gazebo, summer house (one household at a time) and garden room (face covering to be worn in garden room) Separate entrance and exit and one way route around garden and exhibition.
